Please Help Donate to Families with Loved Ones in the Hospital here: https://www.customink.com/fundraising/papa-perspective
My first round at parenting didn’t start out in the most ideal way. Melanie and I knew that Eli was going to be born with a congenital heart defect. We didn’t have any knowledge of how that would affect our lives until the moment he was born.
Just seconds after he was delivered, Eli was passed through a window in the delivery room directly to the NICU to begin tests and medications. The next 5 weeks for us in the hospital would turn out to be the most stressful “rollercoaster” ride of emotions.
In short, Eli had 2 “cath lab” procedures (to physically go into his heart to check pressures), countless echocardiogram tests, and 1 major open heart surgery. Yeah… we weren’t super stoked about it as you can imagine. It’s a rough situation for any parent when you are at the mercy of medicine and miracles with no power to do anything yourself. It didn’t help either that throughout the whole process we were given good news one day, bad news the next, and then good news again. The toll on our minds and emotions was tough…
However, our stay would’ve been much worse without the help of others inside and out of the hospital. For Melanie and I, the Ronald McDonald House Charity of the Intermountain area was a huge lifeline. Inside the hospital there was an RMHC location with beds, showers, 3 meals a day, and places to relax and spend time with loved ones. If it wasn’t for this “home away from home” we would’ve been stuck in a small hospital room for weeks between all of the chaos that surrounded us.
Now that Eli has made a miraculous recovery, Melanie and I have put together a Fundraiser using Custom Ink Fundraising to give back to the charity that gave us so much. Please follow the link below to donate to Ronald McDonald House Charities to help other families with loved ones in the hospital and you’ll receive and awesome “Rad Dad” or “Livin’ La Vida Mom” shirt as a thank you.
(These would make great Mother’s day or Father’s day gifts *wink wink*)
These two campaigns will only last for a short period of time so please help where you can:
If you would like to create your own fundraiser, Custom Ink Fundraising made it super simple and easy for Melanie and I. You don’t have to manage your own inventory, packaging, or shipping. Just simply create your fundraising campaign, put together a design or two (with their easy online customizer), and you’re good to go!
Thank you in advance helping out an organization that gave my family a breath of fresh air during our difficult time.
